Registration Policies

Good Shepherd Preschool offers children of all backgrounds a loving and caring preschool experience.  As a nonprofit organization, Good Shepherd Preschool admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at this school.  Students of any religious affiliation are welcome.  It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship programs and other school-administered programs (IRS Non-Discriminatory Policy Statement).

Our complete handbook with registration forms is available here (3.5 MB), or the registration form alone is available for download above, or both can be mailed by request anytime.  Our policy is to give first preference to current families, next to alumni, and then to the general public.  A typical registration schedule would be:

  • December 15:  Current families are notified, and handbooks and registration forms are distributed.
  • January 2:  Registration for current families opens.  One-half of the registration fee is due to retain a space.  Preference is given to current families until the opening day of registration.
  • January 15:  Registration opens to the alumni, members of the Good Shepherd congregation, and the general public.  Forms from alumni and members of the Good Shepherd congregation with full registration fees received on or before this date have priority over those of the general public, and are prioritized according to the date received.  On this one day only, alumni and Good Shepherd member forms/fees received have priority over those current families.
  • January 16:  All forms/fees received are awarded spaces on a first come/first served basis (no preferences to alumni, Good Shepherd members and current families).
  • February 8:  Reminders that the second registration installment is due are mailed to current families.
  • February 15:  Last date for second installment of registration fees for current families.

***Registration fees are non-refundable***

Cleaning Stipends

“Cleaning Stipends” are available as a way to reduce tuition costs by cleaning the preschool on a regular basis throughout the year.  There is a tuition rebate of $15.00 per cleaning which takes approximately 1½ hours.  Please indicate your interest on the registration form.  These work stipends are awarded by lottery or by alternating schedules, depending on the number of families interested.  Often some form of payment plan can be arranged once a need is identified.  Please alert the registrar or treasurer.

Financial Scholarship

We at Good Shepherd Preschool understand that the expense of preschool may be a strain on a family’s budget, and helping eligible families reduce their cost through scholarships is an important part of our program.  We also strive to keep our tuition as low as possible while continuing to provide a high-quality preschool program.

Scholarships are available for both the 2-day and the 3-day classes.  Any scholarship awarded could provide up to 50% of the total tuition cost, with the family being expected to provide the remainder.  Tuition payments will be due on the dates outlined in the preschool parent handbook.

Scholarships will be awarded based upon need.  Applications will be received by the preschool treasurer, who will then submit anonymous versions of the applications to the scholarship committee for review.  All personal financial documents provided will be shredded after the scholarships are awarded.

If you would like to apply, please complete the application found via the links below and submit it along with the documents requested.  The application can either be dropped in the mailbox of the preschool Treasurer at the preschool itself, or mailed to:

                                                P.O. Box 495

Any family awarded a scholarship will be notified before the start of the school year.  If you have any further questions, please contact the Board Chair, Derek Burkins, at 899-5487.
