Summer Loungin’

I had a wonderful time at the Wisdom Community Retreat last week, and I'm so excited for the Narcan training coming up. As Good Shepherd continues its tradition of finding creative ways to open our doors to the community, I find my heart expanding even as my head fills with new knowledge.

Likewise, my first summer in Vermont seems to be ripening, as neighbors load my arms with garden veggies and I nearly faint from the smell of apple trees heavy with fruit. My family is celebrating a joyous milestone, of renting our house in Utah and moving into a larger unit at Burlington Cohousing.

You may have noticed that Sue and I now share an office at church! For eleven months I have enjoyed using the lovely pastor's study, which, at my behest, is now being turned into a lounge for all. Our church is a loud, bustling place on Sunday mornings. There is a need for a quiet space where individuals with sensory needs can go to relax, and private conversations can be had. I thank the Disability and Inclusion Team for taking me up on this idea, and look forward to seeing the transformation unfold in this sunny little corner of our cozy building!

with love, Pr. Chelsea
